Innovations such as ascending rooms (elevators) and revolving doors heightened the sense of awe. In 2011, the doors of his luxury hotel in London are spinning again, sweeping guests into a world where modern amenities mingle with the extravagance of rail’s golden age.

Over 250 of Huet’s Chorus 42 acoustic rated doorsets have been installed for the hotel rooms. Featuring frames and door leafs of tinted and varnished American White Oak and fitted with electromagnetic locks, the Chorus 42 is a natural partner for the stunning interiors of the St Pancras Renaissance – truly one of London’s architectural icons.

Restored by the prominent architect Richard Martinet, the plush interiors are the creation of renowned interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, the 81 rooms and suites – the largest among Paris luxury hotels – offer guests the chance to enjoy an exclusive home in a unique setting. Requiring doorsets of high technical performance and a bespoke finish to match the luxury interior, the design team selected Huet’s ISA DX43 acoustic rated doorset for the 54 rooms and 27 suites. Huet created a tailor made finish with doorsets of tinted and varnished okoume and mahogany. The hardwood frame was tinted and varnished to match.

Featuring an acoustic rating of 45 Rw dB, the ISA DX43 is integral in extending the tranquil atmosphere that is such a hallmark of the Shangri-La to its rooms and suites.

Almost all of the 106 rooms and 6 suites boast either a view of the sea or tropical gardens – all offer a soft, refined design and luxurious atmosphere. Huet’s ISA DX 39 acoustic rated doorset was selected both for its acoustic performance and its tailor made design options. The hardwood frame with wenge tint and varnish; the door leaf finish of Oberflex Oak Wenge laminate is a natural match for the exotic decor of the Terrou-Bi.

In the 1990′s the Majestic was restored to it’s former art deco glory and it’s latest refurbishment and extension from 2008 to 2010 has built on that heritage. Lucien Barrière Hôtels chose Huet’s premier ISA DX 45 acoustic rated doorset finished with a bespoke Hubler and Oberflex varnished real oak veneer for rooms in the new wing.

Huet’s ability to tailor a doorset finish which matches the elegant interior design, and the high acoustic performance was of crucial importance to the refurbishment team.

Integral to the warmth and understated elegance created by interior designer Pascal Desprez are Huet’s ISA DX43 45 Rw dB rated acoustic doorsets with bespoke finish. Just as the hotel is “an oasis of peace at the heart of the Medina in Marrakech” so the acoustic properties of the ISA DX43 ensure each room is a personal oasis for each and every guest.

Sofitel hired RHWL Architects to work on the renovation, a project undertaken by Sofitel in collaboration with The Crown Estate, Westminster City Council and MWB. As Huet is the preferred door supplier to Sofitels parent company Accor, with a strong track record of developing acoustic rated door sets for the hotel and leisure industry,  it was only natural to consider Huet acoustic-rated doors for the redevelopment. In fact Huets 45 Rw dB rated ISA DX 43 was the perfect choice.

The ISA DX 43 acoustic rated timber doorset, has a frame and leafs of high quality timber which suits the refined interior design of the hotel. Huet supplied the doorsets  with custom moldings on the door leafs and a RAL paint finish to match the specifications of the architect. Ironmongery is similarly custom specified for the project.

The ISA DX 43 provided the ideal combination of design possibilities and acoustic performance for this stunning hotel.

Huets ISA DX 43 sound proof door was the logical choice for the recording studio and the control room. It has an excellent cost-performance ratio, the multi-core construction providing a 45 Rw dB acoustic rating. Double vision panels with blinds give the ISA DX 43 more versatility than other sound proof doors. Specified with a timber primed finish, the doors were painted in onsite to match the fresh, modern interior design of the development.

A Huet ISA DX 45 acoustic rated door set was Kestrels first choice to isolate the practice & recording room from the control room. A real beech wood veneer complemented the interior design of the music suite perfectly while a large vision panel improves visibility and safety. The door sets 47 Rw dB acoustic rating surpassed Kestrels specification and the durable construction, withstanding rough treatment by students, was an added advantage.
